An impressive collection of movies may be found on Netflix. The streamer provides everything we could possibly desire and more, including humour, romance, horror, and everything in between. Every week Netflix publish a list on the top 10 movies currently available on the streaming service, highlight the titles that users are most likely to choose from.


The current number one spot belongs to the Netflix original Murder Mystery 2 for the second week in a row. Chupa, Over the Hedge, and The Lorax all made appearances on the leaderboard, proving how popular animated films are right now!

The list of the top Netflix movies at the moment is provided below. We will be add of it each week with details on each film and links to our reviews so you can decide which ones to watch and which ones to avoid.

10 -'Dr. Suess: The Lorax'

Families all across the world were singing along to "How Bad Can I Be?" when The Lorax debuted in 2012; it was one of the five original songs composed for the animated comedy.

The film, which was directe by Chris Renaud and is based on Dr. Seuss children book at the same name from 1971, tells the tale of a little boy who lives in a community that solely cultivates synthetic plants. But after getting the girl on his dreams he makes the decision to look for a particular tree, which prompts him to learn about the town's long history of corruption.


9- 'The Thing'


This 2011 horror movies serves as a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 film of the same name. The Thing, a film directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., is about a team of scientists who find a parasitic alien. Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joel Edgerton on Ulrich Thomsen and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje are stars of the 103 minutes film.

8- 'Hotel Translyvania'


Greetings from Hotel Transylvania! This entertaining adventure follows the notorious Count Dracula, who in this franchise runs a hotel for monsters. The famous vampire is caught off guard when his daughter falls head over heels for an unexpected guest as they are celebrating his daughter's birthday.

The 91 minutes animat comedy which features Selena Gomez, Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, and CeeLo Green, is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky.

You're in luck if you like this movie! The 2017 spin-off series and the sequel are both available on Netflix.


7- 'Murder Mystery'


In this action comedy from 2019, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston play a married couple who must solve a murder while travelling through Europe. Kyle Newacheck is the director of the 97-minute film, which also stars Terence Stamp, Gemma Arterton, and Luke Evans.

It's "a comedio-dramatic void as memorable as the 167th time you unconsciously exhaled carbon dioxide this morning," Decider's John Serba writes.


6 -'Over the Hedge'

.In the 2006 animated comedy Over the Hedge, directed by Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick, a raccoon gathers a band of forest creatures to travel into the city in search of food for a ravenous bear. The cast of the ensemble film include Bruce Will Steve Carell, William Shatner, Avril Lavigne, and many others.

DreamWorks Animation is the film's producer, and it lasts 83 minutes.


5 - 'Matilda'


Don't mix Matilda with Matilda the Musical, which Netflix will adapt in 2022. The young prodigy made his big-screen debut in this fantasy comedy from 1996.

The 98 minutes film, which is based  Roald Dahl's novel of the same name, centre on a young prodigy who acquires psychokinetic talents and uses them to fight her abusive parents and principal.

Danny Devito also directs the film, which stars Mara Wilson, Embeth Davidtz, Rhea Perlman, and other actors.


4 - 'Chupa'


The film Chupa, which Jonás Cuarón directed, is about a young Mexican-American child named Alex (Evan Whitten) who makes a mythological monster his companion while visiting his family in Mexico. Demián Bichi and Christian Slater are also featured in the 95-minute animated tale.

"Cuarón offers more than a mere imitation by accurately capturing emotions and subtleties rather than just indulging in nostalgia. It's a high-flying adventure movie that offers the kind of family-friendly entertainment that has recently been outsourced to franchises, according to Marshall Shaffer of Decider.


3- 'Shark Tale'


This 2004 animated comedy, directed by Vicky Jenson, Bibo Bergeron, and Rob Letterman, centres on a fish who makes a false killing claim to impress his neighbourhood. Along with Jack Black Robert De Niro Martin Scorsese, Renee Zellweger, Will Smith voices the main character.


2- 'The Bourne Legacy'


The 4th film  the Jason Bourne series The Bourne Legacy, was directed and co-written by Tony Gilroy. Black ops operative Aaron Cross, played by Jeremy Renner, is the focus of the action film. Paul Greengrass, who directed the previous three films, makes his final film. Oscar Isaac, Edward Norton, and Rachel Weisz are also featured.


1- 'Murder Mystery 2'


In this Murder Mystery follow-up, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston both reprise their roles. This action comedy, which was directed by Jeremy Garelick, revisits the detective team as they look into the kidnapping of a billionaire. The duration of the film is 89 minutes.

"The film attempts to upend the murder-mystery formula by not setting up the usual arrange-the-characters-and-suss-out-the-killer plot, instead surprising us with random bullshit diddlefarting gobbledygook nonsense rigamarole," writes John Serba for Decider.
