European nations dominate the top 10 slots in the United Nations' World Happiness Report 2023. Six years running, Finland has been rated as the world's happiest nation. The only non-European countries to make it into the top 10 are New Zealand and Israel; normaly, everything revolves around Europe.

Strangely however, Europe has also recorded a large growth in the use of anti-depressant medications.

As per data released by Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, use of anti-depressant drugs in Europe has grown by more than two times from 2000 to 2020. In this respect, Iceland is at the top spot. It is third happiest country according to the Wold Happiness Report 2023.

Iceland is immediately followed by Sweden and Norway when it comes to growing use of anti-depressants. In the happiness survey, these two nations are ranked sixth and seventh respectively. In positions 8 and 9, respectively, are Finland and Denmark.

These are the top two nations in the study on happiness.

Antidepressant usages are not always a sign of drug abuse because it could also indicate that more people are receiving treatment for mental health conditions.
